Sunday Reflection Quote…The years tick, tick, and tick by some more. The older I get the faster it clicks. Checking off box 48 revealed I have figured out who I am more than ever. I continue to make big strides to embrace the essence of ‘me.’ I know what I want and more importantly, what I don’t. I know what I stand for, even if that means a shrinking circle. I know I have a strong voice and can use discernment to share it. I’m reminded I am dynamic, not static. Here’s to doing it my own way, with purpose!

Sunday Quote, 01/17/2022

Sunday Reflection Quote (Yes, on Monday)…The last week felt like what my dad use to say, “Busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest.” The kicking in education has taken its toll. Again. For most, it’s getting harder and harder to stay standing. On the whole, I do my best to assume positive intent and hold empathy in my heart. Nonetheless, I’m reminded there’s more to life than work. I’m reminded it’s okay to take a day (or three) to sharpen my saw so that I can be strong and balanced. It’s essential to press pause and expand my capacity—for my husband, my wellness, and my students. Here’s to keeping eyes bright and chin up. Even when neck deep in the muck!

Sunday Reflection Quote…Just like that, 2022 opened with a huge can of whoop-ass. Times are tough all around, especially the field of education. We were gut punched last week and boy did it knock the wind out. The chatter is louder than ever with anxiety and stress magnifying. The future is advertising a giant question mark. While tossing and turning with fatigue of it all, I’m reminded there is one thing I can conquer—myself. My tiny corner of the world can still be controlled with my responses, boundaries, and choices. I’m not burying my head in the sand, rather considering what CAN I do to add value to my life and in turn positively impact those around me. Narrowing the scope of input will allow me to focus and muster strength for quality output. I’m just a speck in the world. Here’s to conquering my own back yard!
